Worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services is forecast to grow 20.4% in 2022 to total $494.7 billion, up from $410.9 billion in 2021, according to the latest forecast from Gartner, Inc. In 2023, end-user spending is expected to reach nearly $600 billion.
Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) is forecast to experience the highest end-user spending growth in 2022 at 30.6%, followed by desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) at 26.6% and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) at 26.1% (see Table 1). The new reality of hybrid work is prompting organizations to move away from powering their workforce with traditional client computing solutions, such as desktops and other physical in-office tools, and toward DaaS, which is driving spending to reach $2.6 billion in 2022. Demand for cloud-native capabilities by end-users accounts for PaaS growing to $109.6 billion in spending.
BPaaS = business process as a service; IaaS = infrastructure as a service; PaaS = platform as a service; SaaS = software as a service. Note: Totals may not add up due to rounding.Source: Gartner (April 2022)
SaaS remains the largest public cloud services market segment, forecasted to reach $176.6 billion in end-user spending in 2022. Gartner expects steady velocity within this segment as enterprises take multiple routes to market with SaaS, for example via cloud marketplaces, and continue to break up larger, monolithic applications into composable parts for more efficient DevOps processes.

Users who participate in conversations that are part of the chat list in Teams must have an Exchange Online (cloud-based) mailbox for an admin to search chat conversations. That's because conversations that are part of the chat list are stored in the cloud-based mailboxes of the chat participants. If a chat participant doesn't have an Exchange Online mailbox, the admin won't be able to search or place a hold on chat conversations. For example, in an Exchange hybrid deployment, users with on-premises mailboxes might be able to participate in conversations that are part of the chat list in Teams. However, in this case, content from these conversations isn't searchable and can't be placed on hold because the users don't have cloud-based mailboxes. (For more, see How Exchange and Microsoft Teams interact.)
If users want to send an email to a channel in Teams, they use the channel email address. When an email is part of a channel, anyone can reply to it to start a conversation. Here are some of the applicable limits for sending email to a channel.
There is a throttling limit on how many emails you can send to a channel. The limit is six emails per ten seconds per channel per user and eight emails per ten seconds per tenant per user.1 If the message exceeds this limit, a preview message is generated and the user is asked to download and view the original email from the link provided.
Breakout rooms can only be created in meetings that have fewer than 300 attendees. In addition, creating breakout rooms in a meeting automatically limits the number of meeting attendees to 300. Advise your end-users to not initiate breakout rooms in meetings where they expect more than 300 participants. For more information on large Team meetings, share the guidance Best practices for a large Teams meeting with your end-users.
If you don't have SharePoint Online enabled in your tenant, Microsoft Teams users cannot always share files in teams. Users in private chat also cannot share files because OneDrive for Business (which is tied to the SharePoint license) is required for that functionality.
Teams users can communicate with anyone in your organization's Active Directory and can add anyone in your organization's Active Directory as a contact and to their contact lists by going to Chat > Contacts or Calls > Contacts.
For businesses already subscribed to Microsoft 365 Business, Teams is a free add-on, instead of a separate bill. Slack has filed an EU antitrust complaint over this, arguing that it is a misuse of platform power. Microsoft has also received heat for aggressively pushing Teams to all users, even non-365 subscribers.
Microsoft Teams saw a huge uptick in users during the pandemic, rising from 20 million users in November 2019 to 44 million in March 2020, then 75 million by April. According to digital experience management company Aternity, Microsoft Teams usage growth surpassed Zoom from February to June.
You can limit the amount of text that users can type in a text box. For example, on a survey form template, you can use this feature to prevent users from typing more than 500 characters in a comments box. You can design the form template so that the user's cursor moves automatically to the next control on the form after the character limit is reached.
To make the user's cursor advance automatically to the next control on the form after he or she reaches the character limit, select the Move to next control automatically when limit is reached check box.
A .htaccess file is a text file with important server instructions. These instructions tell your software to enable or disable specific functions. They might help you protect passwords in a directory or restrict user access.
To increase user features and functionality, you might add a third-party theme or plugin to your website. These plugins can be great for your site, but they can also impact site security, bugs, and performance.
Below you will find a compressed data file of the Drugs@FDA database. It does not include the scripts (programming) we use to produce the online version of Drugs@FDA. We are providing this technical information for users who are familiar with working with databases or spreadsheets. All fields are separated by tab delimiters. Each table's primary key, data types, field lengths and nulls appear in the list below. While the official online application, Drugs@FDA, is updated daily, this data file is updated once per week, on Tuesday.
Once you have downloaded the compressed file (drugsatfda.zip), you can unzip the file into 11 text tables. You can then import the tables into a database, spreadsheet or word processing program. Generally, a database program is the best program to use for these types of files.
